Just In! Pakistan faced England in 6th group stage match of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 on 2nd June 2019 at Nottingham. After winning the toss English skipper Eoin Morgan elected to field 1st while closely observed the playing conditions @ Nottingham.
Pakistan’s trust worth opening pair Imam-ul-Haq and F Zaman came out to open up innings for their side in this crucial match. Both Imam and Zaman played really well and provided 82 runs opening standing to their team.
Pakistan batsmen from the start of their innings remained dominant over English attackers and succeed to set strong opening foundations under impressive run rate. Pakistan lost their 1st wicket at the total of 82 runs and Zaman was the 1st batsman who departed while scored 36 runs.
England got their 2nd breakthrough at the total of 111 runs and this time well settled Imam was targeted by M Ali and Imam after playing brilliant innings of 44 runs returned to pavilion. At this stage two new batsmen Baber and Hafeez took the command of their team.
Babar and Hafeez played outstandingly and took their side total to 199 runs in 32nd over of the innings. Babar Azam after playing brilliant innings of 63 runs bowled out and once again M Ali took that crucial wicket. Pakistan skipper S Ahmed was the next man in for Pakistan.
M Hafeez and S Ahmed in middle over played handy innings and took their team total to 279 runs in 42nd over of the innings. Hafeez after playing superb innings of 84 runs on just 62 deliveries bowled out and Wood took his wicket.
Pakistan at the end of 46th over scored 311 runs while lost their 5 wickets. Asif Ali departed from field after scoring 14 runs. Pakistan skipper scored brilliant 51 runs on just 40 balls while remained not out till the end of the innings.
