Yurvaj Singh the middle order batsman of India still grabbed the top position as the most expensive player purchased in IPL auction since 2015. Yuvraj Singh was bought by Delhi Daredevils for the $ 2.67 million, the record bid for any player in IPL auction. On the other hand the most expensive foreign player in IPL was bought by Pune Supergiants back in 2017 when Ben Stokes was bought for $ 2.16 million.

In recent edition Royal Challenger Bangalore had purchased Yuvraj Singh for the heavy bid of $ 2.33 million in IPL 2014 but in the auction of IPL 2015, the bidding rate of Yuvraj Singh just touched the record heights in players action as Delhi Daredevils splashed $ 2.67 million and break down all the previous records and Yuvraj Singh become the most expensive player of IPL.
2# Gautam Gambhir (Kolkata 2011) – $ 2.4 million
Back in 2011, Kolkata Knight Riders bought the Indian opener Gautam Gambhir for the amount of $ 2.4 million after some amazing bidding in IPL auction. It is quite extra ordinary that many of the auction teams wanted to purchase Ghambir but still it did not reach the top of bidding. KKR made him captain and due to superb captaincy of Ghambir, Kolkata got right on the money and won the title of IPL twice in the row in 2013 and 2014.
3# Yusuf Pathan (KKR 2011) – $ 2.1 million
In the same auction back in 2011, KKR made another massive bid to purchase Yusuf Pathan who was hot favorite due to his brilliant performance in recent seasons of IPL. Yusuf Pathan before the arrival in KKR appeared for RR and scored fastest century of IPL history on just 37 deliveries. Yusuf played really well for KKR and scored recorded 50 on just 15 balls in 2012.
4# Robin Uthappa (Pune 2011) – $2.1 million
Pune Warriors was introduced as newbie team in IPL edition 2011 and in the same season they went for a big bid in players auction while bought Robin Uthappa for the heavy amount of $ 2.1 million.
