Just In! Bad news for all Afghan cricket team fans as their experienced wicket-keeper batsman Muhammad Shahzad has been ruled out of Cricket World Cup 2019. The ballistic Afghan opening batsman has just appeared in 2 group stages of this mega cricket event.
Muhammad Shahzad in his recent video breaks down into tears after being dropped down from Afghanistan World Cup 2019 squad. However, Shahzad claims that he is completely fit and wrongly ruled out of team squad.
According to Shahzad, Afghan cricket board didn’t approach him while taking the decision of his removal and according to the most senior Afghanistan news reporter, Muhammad Shahzad is all set to return to home in the upcoming week.
Muhammad Shahzad is counted among the most senior players of Afghanistan cricket team as he is currently the highest run scorer for Afghan side in ODI format. Shahzad has scored 2727 runs while appeared in 84 international matches and having healthy average of 33.66. In his pro-career, he has scored 14 half centuries and 4 centuries against some of the high profile cricketing sides.
According to Afghanistan cricket board, Muhammad Shahzad is suffering from injury and he is declared as unfit for the upcoming games of Afghan side. Earlier this event, Muhammad Shahzad has injured himself during a warm-up game.
Muhammad Shahzad has also remained unlucky during Cricket World Cup 2015 as at that time he was also dropped down from 15-man squad and same happen with him during the current cricket World Cup 2019. However Shahzad has failed to impressive anyone with his performance during the first two group stage games where he scored 0 and 7 runs respectively in both matches.
As per sources Afghan cricket board has decided to appoint young IKram Ali in place of Muhammad Shahzad. Still Muhammad Shahzad has some chances to appear in some group stage games but this news is now verified by authentic sources.
