Pakistan after displaying their worst performance in 2nd group stage match of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 against West Indies is now settled on last position on group rankings. Earlier this day Pakistan bowled out on their lowest ever total 106 runs against Caribbean side while decided to bat 1st after winning the toss.
Pakistan batting line-up once again failed to put some big runs on score board in one of the most crucial games of Cricket World Cup 2019. The current performance of Pakistan team has raise serious concerns regarding to their preparations for this mega cricket event.
West Indies after securing 7 wickets victory against Pakistan on Friday’s afternoon is now jumped on 2nd place in group standings right after the host nation England. The performance of Caribbean side against Pakistan remained on high end and throughout that match WIndies remained dominant over their strong opposition.
Pakistan although appointed their best ODI players in that match but their main batting unit collapsed in earlier over of their innings and back to back fall of wickets limited Pakistan to one of their lowest ODI total 106 runs against West Indies. No Paki batsmen was able to score big runs in that match whereas 6 players of this side returned to pavilion without opening their accounts.
However, Pakistan still have to cover long journey in this event and they have still some time to overcome their lacks and gaps especially in their batting unit in order to compete other sides of this tournament and stay alive till the end of Cricket World Cup 2019.
This is not the 1st time Pakistan has failed to put some runs on the score board as they have suffered from same issue in recent few matches and if they continue with some performance it will become really hard for them to survive in this event.
The performance of Pakistan against West Indies also unveils poor selection of batting order as Asif Ali and S Malik remained out of the squad and hopefully they will join Pakistan before their next clash against the host nation England.
