Just In! Bad news for all cricket fans as India’s most reliable left arm opener Shikhar Dhawan has been ruled out of Cricket World Cup 2019 due to his thumb injury happened against Australia two days ago when a sharp bouncer has stuck on his hand.
According to sources, Shikhar Dhawan is not traveling with his team to Nottingham whereas India is scheduled to play their next group stage match against New Zealand on Thursday. Sources claims that S Dhawan World Cup 2019 campaign could be ended now and India selectors will appoint new player as a replacement of S Dhawan.
Dhawan is considered as one of the most experienced and reliable opener for India and currently he is looking in great form. S Dhawan has scored brilliant 117 runs on just 109 deliveries against Australia and played crucial role in the victory of his team in that match.
Well it is a big shock for India cricket team as S Dhawan will remain out of squad for minimum 3 to 4 weeks. According to medical reports, the left thumb of S Dhawan was fractured due to sharp bouncer hit right on his joint. However S Dhawan has continued his innings against Australia after being hit by a bouncer and scored superb century.
The detailed medial report of S Dhawan reveals that his thumb is fractured and it will take 3 to 4 weeks to recover completely. S Shawan didn’t travelling with his team to Nottingham where they will face New Zealand on Thursday.
As per sources, India will hopefully appoint Rishabh Pant or Shreyas Iyer as a replacement of S Dhawan but final name is still not announced by BCCI. According to BCCI, S Dhawan thumb has been fractured and might take a month to recover so they are going to find his suitable replacement.
S Dhawan has appeared in 130 International ODI so far and scored massive 54,80 runs at an average of 44. During his pro-career Dhawan has scored 27 fifties and 17 centuries against many high profile cricketing sides.
