New Zealand are the defending champions of 2019 Rugby World Cup as Kiwi’s had defeated Australia in Rugby World Cup 2015 Finals by 34-17 scores and become the World Champions of Rugby for the 3rd time in the history. Before this victory New Zealand had won the 1st ever Rugby World Cup edition back in 1987 whereas they won their 2nd Champions title back in 2011.

2019 Rugby World Cup Rules and Format
Each participating team will appear in 4 matches against their group mates whereas the top two teams of each group with qualify for the next rounds of this event. As per rules, two teams that finish on top place in their group point tables will enter into the next rounds of this event known as Quarter-Finals. Total 8 teams will meet each other in the Knock-out rounds of this tournament whereas top two teams will play in the Finals of 2019 Rugby World Cup.
Rugby World Cup Qualified Teams
The 12 teams that have automatically qualified for the main rounds are those that ended up on top positions in their respective groups during Rugby World Cup 2015 and these teams includes the defending champions New Zealand along with Australia, Italy, Japan, Georgia, England, South Africa, Argentina, Wales, Scotland, Ireland and France.
The other 8 teams of this tournament include Russia, Fiji, Tonga, Samoa, USA, Canada, Uruguay and Namibia. All these teams have qualified on the basis of their victories in different Regional and Cross-Regional tournaments.
Rugby World Cup Groups
All 20 teams of 2019 Rugby World Cup are divided into 4 groups with 5 teams in each group whereas the top two teams from each group will appear in the Knockout Rounds of this event. Each team will play 4 matches against their group mates.
The Pool A of Rugby World Cup involves Ireland, Samoa, Russia, Japan and Scotland whereas teams in Pool B includes the defending champions New Zealand along with South Africa, Italy, Canada and Namibia. Pool C includes England, France, Tonga, USA and Argentina whereas Australia, Wales, Georgia, Fuji and Uruguay are placed in Pool D of this event.
